本物Genuine, by definition
Everything sold at Gentei is official merchandise, produced under license from the rights holders by authorized manufacturers and sourced through authorized channels. This page shows what that means in practice and how to check it on the piece in your hands.
What officially licensed means
Licensed merchandise is made by a manufacturer that holds a license agreement with the rights holder of a series - the studio, the publisher or the creator. The licensor approves the artwork, the product and the packaging before production, and the finished item carries the licensor's copyright line and marks.
Gentei is an independent retailer. We do not own these franchises and we are not sponsored or endorsed by the rights holders. What we do is simple: we sell what was produced under their license, and nothing else.
Who holds the rights
These are the copyright lines you will find on the product, its label or its packaging. We repeat them in every product description and in the license badge on every product page.
| Series | Rights holders, as printed on the product |
|---|---|
| Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super | ©Bird Studio/Shueisha, Toei Animation |
| Naruto Shippuden | ©2002 Masashi Kishimoto / 2007 Shippuden. All Rights Reserved. |
| One Piece | ©Eiichiro Oda/Shueisha, Toei Animation |
How to check your piece
Two product lines, two sets of marks. Both are visible before you ever wear the item.
What we never sell
- Replicas and counterfeits
- Fan-made or unlicensed reproductions
- "Inspired by" designs that use a character or a series name without a license
If an item was not produced under license, it is not on this store, however good it looks. Our full position on trademarks, copyrights and takedown requests is on the Copyright and Intellectual Property page.
